My Apple TV Remote isn't Working
If your Apple remote is unresponsive, it usually needs to be charged and/or re-paired with your device.
Step 1: Charge the Remote
Plug your remote into a USB-C or Lightning cable (depending on your model) and let it charge for at least 30 minutes. Since there is no charging light, ensure your cable and power source are functional.
Important Note: Apple TV remotes do not have an indicator light. There is no visual signal to show the remote is charging or has power.
Step 2: Pair the Remote to the Device
Once charged, follow these steps to re-sync the remote to your Atmosphere player:
-
Prepare: Ensure your TV is on and that Atmosphere is visible on the screen.
-
Position: Hold the remote within 3 inches of the Apple TV device (bring it as close as possible).
-
Pairing Command: Press and hold the Back (<) (or Menu) and Volume Up (+) buttons simultaneously for 5–10 seconds.
-
Confirm: Look for a "Pairing" or "Connected" message on your TV screen.

Step 3: Reset (If still not working)
If the standard pairing fails, try a remote reset:
-
Reset: Press and hold the TV/Control Center button and the Volume Down (-) button simultaneously for 5 seconds.
-
Wait: Wait for a "Connection Lost" or "Remote Restarting" notification on your TV.
-
Retry Pairing: Once the remote restarts, repeat the pairing steps in Step 2.
Step 4: Final Quick Fixes
-
Power Cycle: Unplug the power cable from the Apple TV device, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in.
-
Physical Contact: If pairing still fails, physically touch the remote to the Apple TV device for 5 seconds, then try the pairing buttons again.
