How to do an Apple Device Software Update
To ensure your streaming experience is optimized, your Apple TV may occasionally require a manual software update. Because Atmosphere devices are customized for business use, you must Factory Reset the device first to "unlock" the update settings, and then run the Software Update.
First, factory reset the device to allow a software update:
-
Press the Menu or Back arrow button repeatedly until you reach the Atmosphere Main Menu.
-
Select Settings from the top navigation bar.
-
Select Network on the left, then click OPEN APPLE TV SETTINGS at the bottom right.
-
When prompted, select Open.
-
In the Apple system menu, scroll down and select System.
-
Select Reset, then confirm by selecting Reset again.
-
Wait: Your device will reboot. This may take a few minutes.
Second, run the software update.
Once the device has rebooted and returned to the Atmosphere menu, you can now trigger the update:
-
Return to Settings > Network > OPEN APPLE TV SETTINGS (following the same path as above).
-
Select Open to enter the device settings.
-
Scroll down to System and select Software Updates.
-
Select Update Software.
-
Select Download and Install.
The device will now download the latest firmware and reboot one final time. Once the update is finished, select your preferred channel and resume streaming.
The update can take up to an hour. (If you see a screensaver, your device is still in the process of updating). It will reboot when the update is complete. Once complete, select your channel and resume streaming.
